BY DESIGN (all the good stuff)

We’re almost there! I’m hoping that BY DESIGN (Book 2 of the Savvy Homes Trilogy) will be published just days from now, and as I am getting so excited to send this book out into the world, I’m realizing that I haven’t shared some crucial information with you all.

First of all, the cover. Yes, I’ve shared this on social media, but so far it hasn’t had a place on my website and that needs to change. I should have posted about this weeks ago (but, life)… so here we go! This cover was once again created by the fabulous Natalie Keller Reinert – my go-to for all things design and formatting (because I’m useless). I think it goes PERFECTLY with GOOD BONES, the first in the series, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Isn’t she beautiful?? I love the cozy southern porch and the purple accent color. (If you’ll remember from the GOOD BONES cover, the accent color was pink). The purple here suits Des, I think. Oh, and on that note… is it time for me to share what BY DESIGN is all about? You already know that this is Des’s story, but what can you expect from this second Savvy Homes installment? I haven’t shared this anywhere yet, so here’s your first look at BY DESIGN’s back cover blurb:

Des Jepson has it all together. As the interior designer of Savvy Homes – the house-flipping business she owns with her two best friends – she has every last detail of her life meticulously planned, scheduled, and managed. She’s known for her precise punctuality, her sky-high heels and impeccable fashion sense, and above all, her no-nonsense attitude. And while her razor-sharp tongue and dry sense of humor make it clear to anyone within a five-mile radius that Des is perfectly happy on her own and without the complication of a man in her life, her friends know there’s something soft and vulnerable underneath her bristly exterior, just waiting for the right man to uncover it.

Bartender Miller Hain might be just the man to do it – but only if he can convince Des to let him in. And after a few unexpected encounters, it’s clear to him that hers isn’t a heart that’s easily – or quickly – won. Luckily, he’s got all the time in the world, and when Miller’s eye catches something he wants, it’s sure to take a hell of a lot more than Des’s frosty disposition to scare him away.

But while Des tries all she can to ignore the irritating attraction she feels towards Miller, there are other worries on her mind. She and her friends are working to flip a house clearly haunted by an increasingly aggressive malevolent spirit, while the city of Savannah is still reeling from the sudden and mysterious death of one of its own. Was it a tragic accident, or should the city fear a silent killer who awaits its next victim? Will Savvy Homes uncover the dark history of their threatening spirit before their business suffers the consequences?

And will one shocking discovery push Des to the brink of disaster with Miller, or will her heart finally find the happy ending it never knew to search for?

Romance, suspense, mystery, and the paranormal… I might be biased, given that I wrote the thing, but I think it’s worth a read. Stay tuned here and on my social media (Facebook and Instagram) for more details as we prepare to dive into Des’s story!
