We have 2 DAYS TO GO until the official release of BY DESIGN, and I’m so excited to share this little bit of fun Savvy Homes bonus content with you, in celebration of GOOD BONES’s little sister’s upcoming book birthday.
I started writing GOOD BONES in the spring of 2015, while I was living in a little flat in Oxford, and kinda sorta missing home. I listened to a lot of country music that spring/summer, and if I’m being honest, I think the music that came out that year was a hundred times better than any of the country music on the radio this summer. SO, I really enjoy listening back to the playlist I’d created that year, and whenever I do… I’m transported back to writing GOOD BONES.
It’s a funny thing, how music can be so nostalgic. I feel so connected to the writing of that novel when I listen to some of these songs – and some of them make sense to the characters and story, while others don’t. They just a have a vibe – a lighthearted, summer vibe that feels flirty and fun to listen to. With some of these songs, I think of Josh. With others, I think of Carlee. Still others, I think of how Josh might feel towards Kit… (and if you don’t remember all of these names, maybe you should re-read GOOD BONES ahead of BY DESIGN!).
Anyway, I’m really excited to share this Spotify playlist for GOOD BONES, complete with 20 tracks that I listened to during the writing of that novel, and that still make me think of those characters today.
